How has the city shaped us as individuals? It has shown us what it means to be apart of a community. It has made us aware of many realities and hardships. And it has given us a voice to advocate for ourselves and the things we believe in.

The George Brown College Class of ‘24 convocation mural was designed to accompany GBC’s recent “City is our classroom” advertising campaign. It combines typographic messaging with familiar landmarks across the school’s three campuses.

On deciding on the theme “Flower Pot”:  I wanted the name to be a play on the term “Melting Pot” but instead of promoting togetherness through homogeneity, I wanted it to be through diversity, a “flower pot” if you will.

“Innervzm II, a companion to 2022’s Innervzm, is a sprawling, meditative collection from Los Angeles-based producer, drummer, and sound architect, Raays. The EP’s title derives from a conversation between Raays and Leaving labelmate Deantoni Parks regarding “archeology of self” as a creative methodology. Innervzm, as a concept, connotes the kind of soul work that necessarily precedes and renders outward action possible, meaningful, and effective. ”

“The Moving, Dancing, Knowledge series engaged learning communities within and beyond the university to highlight dance scholarship and practice, the role of dance and movement in physical and mental well-being, and the considerations of dance as both an artistic and activist form that embodies intersecting identities.
